Learn the piano

Back in Nov I was a raw beginner at piano. I knew the 12 notes on the keyboard but that was about it. I started practing a couple hours a day the chords and major scales. I'm age 58, retired and have time to do such things.

However I wasn't going anywhere fast and learning a couple simple Chirstmas songs wasn't much fun. I knew what I needed was a goal, a lesson course with sheet music and examples I could hear and play along with. Luckily I found you via your YouTube clips. Your online lesson Web site videos have worked great. I have my notebook right next to the keyboard so it's easy to follow along. I listen to you play a clip, pause the video, then practice it myself.

I think it took me a week before a right finger could play a triplet and not have my left hand want to follow it. I have problems playing every new bass line or lick but I've learned to start real slow then build speed. Now I'm learning new Grooves much quicker.

I've made it through the 501 and 502 lessons and I'm about to go through the 503. After that I figure I will need a few months of practice to smooth it out. Plus I want to go back and practic playing in other keys.

I'll definitely recommend you to anyone I come across. I can play much of the material in 501 and 502 semi-accurately if playing slowly. However going at what would be a normal speed is still impossible for me as my hands and fingers need alot more practice. I'm looking forward to the day I can post a YouTube clip and say .. Hey look at what Wille taught me.

Your videos help a LOT! Just by watching them and playing along I notice a lot of progression. The videos explain clearly how to use a chord, shake it up with the inversions and suspensions, but also what's possible beyond just the progression in the video. It makes all the theory a lot less "dry" and more fun to do. It feels like a natural learning progression, in a good steady, not to slow – not to fast, pace.

First, your materials are extremely challenging. I've been playing for about 3 & 1/2 years now. I've learned through online DVDs from different web-sites but none of their stuff is as rich as yours. You present your stuff with all the meat and bones.

Second, you take care of your customers well. There's not one time that i sent you an email to which you did not answer. If you haven't already been successful, you will. Although you're running your business, I see a desire in you to help and serve your customers, and that matters more than anything else.

I'd like to say that I'm delighted to have discovered your course. I'm actually an accordion player rather than piano. I've had some great tutors and reached a reasonably good level but have found it very hard to find anyone to teach me the kind of jazz I want to play. In the few days I've been taking this course I've already learned so much. Even, maybe surprisingly, on the left hand. I've tried a number of books but it's hard to get the 'feel' right.
